Laboratory Biologist

Eftychia Lappa is a graduate of the Biology Department of the University of Crete. She acquired professional training in gene and chromosomal analysis techniques, but her interest in the study of Human Reproduction prompted her to deal specifically with the male factor. She worked for three years in a specialized laboratory of Spermology, while simultaneously working in an Andrology clinic, where she was given the opportunity to observe how diseases in the male urogenital system are treated. In April 2022, she joined the SPERMLAB team as a laboratory biologist.

Secretary

Eleftheria Kanta (secretary) is skilled in marketing, tax legislation and informatics. With many years of experience in the highly demanding position of an administrative assistant, she files and keeps the private and confidential information of the SPERMLAB laboratory’s patients/clients with absolute discretion. With fluent skills in archiving and accounting, she assists the proper operation of the laboratory excellently. She is a co-founder and vice President of the International Foundation of Spermatology.

Georgios Voulgaridis
Scientific director

Georgios Voulgaridis (Director in chief) studied Biology obtaining specialisation in Pathophysiology at the University of Lecce (IT) and continued his studies in Biostatistics at the University of Athens (UoA). He is a pioneer in the dissemination of the annual andrological checkup. His interest in Human Reproduction led him write the book “The (human) Reproduction“, which became a syllabus at the Midwifery Department of Thessaloniki. His auctorial work also includes translations and reviews of Gynaecology books and pioneering research studies in the Theory of Probability and Statistics. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the open-access International Journal of Spermatology. His charitable work also includes the constitution of the International Foundation of Spermatology, and that of the Hellenic and International Association of Spermatology. He has established international rules for the study of human semen. Today, he is the director of SPERMLAB laboratory and he is most interested in organizing training courses in Spermatology, organizing and conducting studies in Men’s Health. He invented andro-test, the test for the assessment of Men’s Health and defined the Annual Andrological Checkup and the Semen Self-Exam.
