Must know about sperm…

MEN are asymptomatic, therefore… it is important that they visit an UROLOGIST PREVENTIVELY.

The Checkup is simple: an andro-test shows whether the prostate, the seminiferous tubules, the epididymides, the testicles and other glands function properly.

Must consult an UROLOGIST

Basic concepts

Even a weak sperm can be improved. A reliable semen analysis at a Spermatology laboratory is what your urologist needs to make the diagnosis and recommend the appropriate treatment.

Quite often, the cause of a low sperm number, low motility or abnormal morphology, is just an inflammation. This may be due to a bacterial infection. The reason for the low semen quality could also be a varicocele, hormonal imbalance or other causes that only the urologist can diagnose. The person competent to diagnose the problem and recommend the appropriate treatment is the UROLOGIST.

Similarly to each woman consulting her gynaecologist, every man shall preventively consult his urologist, already by adolescence. Since an infection rarely presents with symptoms in man, a good advice would be for him to consult his urologist each time his partner presents an irritation or infection.

Semen presents significant fluctuations that may be due to random variables, like the frequency of ejaculations, a febrile episode or taking certain medications. For this reason, the World Health Organization recommends to repeat the analysis in 1-4 weeks. The standardization of the conditions which must be met before planning for a semen analysis significantly helps to reduce fluctuations and increases the reliability of results. Thereby, it is not usually necessary to repeat the analysis unless there has been a treatment in the meantime.

When no spermatozoa are observed or semen quality is considered low, causes must be investigated only by an urologist and the result must be verified. A weak sperm could be improved if the urologist comes to a diagnosis of the cause and recommends the appropriate treatment.

Each time spermatozoa are not observed, it does not mean there are none. Even when spermatozoa are not produced, there may be a treatment. When every possible treatment has been implemented by the urologist, and still there are no motile spermatozoa observed, the urologist may search for spermatozoa directly in the testis by performing a biopsy. However, there are cases that cannot be treated.

Some diseases or medications may adversely affect the quality and/or the production of sperm. As a precaution, the doctor may recommend the storage (cryopreservation) of semen samples to ensure the ability of childbearing in the future. For example, it is important to know that the cryopreservation of semen is recommended prior to chemotherapy or radiation near the pelvis, because these treatments may harm even irreversibly semen production.

Only an urologist is competent to deal with subfertility related to weak semen

Weak semen is due to pathological conditions that only an urologist is competent to investigate and treat.

The in-vitro fertilization (IVF) or the intrauterine fertilization (IUI) are not therapeutic methods for a weak semen.

By using a weak semen, the probability of success in an IVF or IUI is very low.

Even if the IVF or the IUI is successful, the cause of the weak semen remains and still threats the partner’s health.

The urologist can improve the semen’s quality in order to conceive without IVF.

Prostatitis concerns 9 out of 10 men (87% according to a study on 1197 men)

Each time your female partner presents an irritation, you probably have an infection of the prostate.

Only the UROLOGIST is competent to advise you for the proper regimen, which is different from the one your female partner needs.

Although a symptom may be frequent urination or the premature ejaculation, usually prostatitis is asymptomatic. Indeed, many men have a prostatitis without beign aware of it. This is why it is very important for men not to forget the Semen Self-Exam

The prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate, usually due to an infection. The chronic prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate that remains, usually because of improper treatment. To prevent prostatitis from reappearing, it is very important that the antibiotic regimen includes the sexual partners.

The andro-test semen analysis can tell a man whether his urogenital tract is healthy.

The erectile dysfunction and the premature ejaculation can be treated by the urologist

Although many men experience erection or ejaculation problems, they hesitate to consult an urologist.

The urologist will find a solution and your partner will support you.

The frequent urogenital tract infections are usually due to insufficient regimen

Both partners shall follow the proper regimen, at the same time.

The treatment of a urogenital tract infection in men differs from the one women need. Competent to consult men about the proper regimen is only an urologist.

You need a complete microbiological examination, not just a culture for aerobic bacteria. The complete exam includes at least cultures for aerobic/anaerobic bacteria and test for Ureaplasmas, Mycoplasmas and Chlamydia.

Prostate cancer concerns >2.000.000 European men

Prostate cancer is not the only reason men shall visit the urologist for.

Prostate cancer can be prevented, if men visit the urologist already by their adolescence.

Infections occurring in younger age, that remained untreated since they are asymptomatic, increase the risk of having problems with the prostate later.

Consult an urologist, today.

There are several disorders that rarely present with symptoms in men, like the VARICOCELE οr the TUMOR of the TESTICLES that can be treated if diagnosed early.

For that, it is very IMPORTANT that men shall CONSULT an UROLOGIST PREVENTIVELY.
